Constance Caraway P.I. ~ Episode 236

…Ace Bannion saw white blobs, the others saw them for what they are…

Across the way, seated in the stands along the 3rd base line at Comiskey Park, Constance, Fanny, Daniels and Ace discuss what the tangible results of this spectacle are.

“Here’s what I think Connie,” injects the man (Daniels) who best understands the role that Pentateuch has played in all this. “If you notice, the bread crumbled away and the wine was turned into water. Penty had poisoned both, and was going to execute everyone with Communion. God did His thing while he prepared that blackout, which by the way, was not just at the park or the city, not even the US, but the world. When we angel2got power back here, so did everyone else on the planet; TV’s and all.”

“What were those 3 white blobs we saw around?” the burning question of this fleeting day.

“I don’t think Angels appreciate being called blobs, Ace. God uses them to carry out His bidding on Earth. Now I hardly know them on a first name basis, but I’m pretty sure that MICHAEL was in charge of this one. And from what I’ve seen out at Tolentine, GABRIEL probably zapped Canisso (Vincent Wolfgram), so he was in on this and RAPHAEL may have been here to help some of those people who gobbled Communion down before they were supposed to.”

Ace Bannion saw blobs, the others saw them for what they are.

“See, Ace buddy, it pays to listen to instructions,” Constance never passes up the chance to train her companions. Tragically, several dozen people, mostly those with predisposed physical problems (or it was just their time), died eating Penty’s poisoned portions. “They were told to wait but they figured, ‘it can’t hurt to eat this stuff now’?”

Many of the BGCPGCCR attendees were seekers, new to the rituals of religion.

…IT’S COMMUNION TIME…

IT’S COMMUNION TIME! This is the time in the Billy Graham Comiskey Park Greater Chicago Crusade Revival when, those who have already and those who have asked the Lord Jesus to come into their heart tonight, reenact The Last Supper. Wherever, whenever done so, it is a ritualistic reminder that Christ died for the sins of all mankind, those who have gone before and those who will follow.

As it was rehearsed beforehand, the bread is passed out first, meaning one miniature per isle, with the person on the end of the row either getting a good handful of the leftover loaf or a handful of crumbs.

Loavesbreadcrumbs

It pays to be a good listener in this case and if one follows Billy G’s instructions, one and all hang to the piece of bread that they ripped from the leavened oval. The eagerly and properly charismatically challenged multitude, has been advised to wait for the second element AND THEN take them in, one at a time– but ONLY at the Billy’s cue, at the appointed time.–

–So far, so good; as the light of day drifts into dusk, the Jewish sweet red wine is passed along one tiny bottle per customer. No one should need or want Related imagemore than one, with the possible exception of those who only came for the fermented spirit; the Bridgeport Smokes & Liquor at 36th and Normal would be a more reliable source of alcohol and other vises after the Revival.

The charismatic leader of this Revival meeting scans the crowd with his eyes, as the cameras pan in a similar fashion, capturing the reverent tone of this time-honored tradition. A slight blue haze hangs in the air, affecting the picture quality, tobacco smoke trapped and capped by an evening thermal layer, but it does not deter Sam’s-Cams from focusing on entire sections of faces.

…at no time do you sample the wine, to do so will result in severe consequences…

COMISKEY PARK

Pentateuch-001

“This is the Communion bread. There will be one loaf per section isle and itcommunion will be served first. The consumer, (actually termed communicant), will tear off a chunk and pass it to the right, to the end of the isle. Do not eat the bread you guys, I repeat do not eat the bread,” Winters/Penty is speaking to a meeting of 500 Comiskey concessionaires, who temporarily put down their cotton candy and soda to hand out communion elements.

“The little bottles of wine will be in a tray like this one and each person will take one and pass the tray to the right.” The Boss of them glares into each and every one of their eyes. “But first we must get the wine into the bottles. Watch and listen.”

He enlists two pre-trained volunteers to demonstrate.

“Do you see how these little bottles have a screw on cap? Working in pairs, one will twist the cap counterclockwise to remove it; your partner will fill the turkey baster from the pitcher, then fill the highly collectible souvenir bottle. Then you will replace the cap and place the bottle in the tray.” Concession captain Winters is coordinating the assembly of 45,000 doses, (actually termed servings), of Communion wine. “Just like the bread, at no time do you sample the wine. To do so will result in severe consequences (fired from a $1.75/hr. job?)… No finger licking, no nothing!”

To ask these men to refrain from sampling is a stretch. A hunk of this and a sip of that, it is a well practiced perk, when no one is looking. Don’t you think the gals at the hot dog stand occasionally test the doneness of their encased meat?

In this case, any covertly consumed spiritual product will have unfortunate side-effects.

It will be shown after BG’s opening sermon and before Communion.

Heaven only knows what will happen in~between.

Crusade-001

When Billy Graham envisioned his Midwest Crusade, he thought about asking many titans of faith to join him, but the more time he spent around the so-called Libbyites, he realized that he had all the evangelistic fuel he needed with them alone.

The Bible is filled with “ites”, the easiest being the Israelites. Name six more andLibbyites-001 win a prize:

  1. Moabites
  2. Jacobites
  3. Amalekites
  4. Hittites
  5. Levites
  6. Reubenites

Ding-ding-ding, everyone is a winner. Some “-ites” are more famous than others and if you can name the hundred or more “-ite” clans, God bless you.

Libbyites are found only in the collection of words named CONSTANCE CARAWAY ~ Forever Mastadon~. To add your name to the current roster of the lucky twelve dedicated members, there will be a form to fill out in APPENDIX B section at THE END of Forever Mastadon. …“Marty, how’ve ya been man?” Ace likes Martin’s spunk, pretty cool for an egghead…

Without intentionally searching for it, Willard knows what it’s like to be a part of revival.

“Ever since that 3rd crusade event – what is that, a month and a half ago, I haven’t had so much as a hair out of place. The first two nights, however, I could feel something tugging at me or someone hovering around me, lurking.” Willard Libby knows full well that he has been the focus of a battle much bigger than him alone.

“Now you know what we’ve been dealing with all this time, with all the bad people, evil spirits and the devil himself doing more than nagging at us. On the other hand, we can sense that God is on our side, angelic intervention, if you will miraculous events and recoveries and now we get an instruction booklet on how to beat Satan at his own game.” This is one pumped Private Eye. “It is so significant that Billy buses have made a right turn from Iowa and they are headed back for an outside meeting at Kominski Field.”

“It cannot be both Constance, it is either Comiskey Park or Wrigley Field.” Martin Kamen is the resident baseball fan in and provides the proper stadia clarification.

“Marty, how’ve ya been man?” Ace likes Martin’s spunk, pretty cool for an egghead.

“With you guys out of town, it has been a breeze; no fires, kidnappings, hospitalizations, ice storms, or power blackouts.” He looks around and ducks his head, highlighting the possible dangers expected with their return.

“Can Billy count on your part of the live presentation on April 28th and maybe 29th too?” Connie asks.

“I have been talking to some other colleagues lately and I bet I could get them to join in, for a display of universal support,” Martin has bought in.

“You have a week and a half to work on that. Ace and I are going to have posters printed up. I called Eddie D and he said he would put them up around town.”

It is time to get busy.

…We are going back to Chicago and finish what old Satan has started…

Connie and Ace are able to leave a message (about the Holy Scroll) (by Carrier Pigeon-Word of Mouth-Rumor) for Graham to wait  a bit before boarding the American Queen paddle wheel riverboat; so he is waiting, very curious as to what the fuss is about. He should trust Constance’s expressions of urgency by now.

When he gets his hands on their special delivery and briefly looking it over, he drops directly to his knees, raising both hands skyward, speechless.

“A local Wisconsin historian hinted that this was probably of divine origin,” relates Constance, “and you would not believe where we found it. Is it possible that it was intentionally placed in our path?”

Nothing should surprise her anymore. Graham certainly is not.

“Nothing is impossible for God and I truly believe that He has had His hand on you all through this entire year. This is a direct message from the Lord,” Billy concludes after consulting his on-staff Biblical scholar, “and we cannot ignore it.We are going back to Chicago and finish what old Satan has started.

“Written by hand on Holy paper, with Holy ink, wholly Holy; what a way for the Lord to communicate with us. I was fully expecting an angelic visit or God’s strong voice telling me what to do.

“There is Revival spirit spreading throughout this land and we must put on the show of our lives!” Graham has never been more convinced.

Comiskey Park Card“It is warm enough for an outdoor event, Billy,” Samuel Goldwyn is in on the meeting and still with the Crusade, even into mid-April. His keen business sense has proven invaluable. “I took the time to check with the Chicago White Sox and they are in Detroit on Saturday April 28th; why don’t we do a Comiskey Park blowout meeting?”

Goldwyn Jr. has dedicated himself to see the Crusades through and until they go back to California. He has also become the venue guru for Graham, freeing the good young Reverend to tailor his messages to each new audience.

“We will race back to see how things are shaking in Chi Town,” Race rhymes with Ace.

Constance rhymes with constant, “Let’s get back in one piece.”
