Constance Caraway P.I. ~ Episode 22

…“Where do we start Miss Caraway?…

Martin Kamen finds out that Willard was in regular communication with Vatican City, among others. What is the connection between the theory of evolution and radiocarbon dating? He chimes in with his nuggets:

  • Pope Pius XII wanted Willard to come out against the growing scientific leanings in favor of the theory of evolution.
  • Willard lives in Olympia Fields. Tolentine is a monastery of Friars on the edge of that sleepy Illinois village.
  • Billy Graham is an evangelist and crusader who has a degree in anthropology of all things.
  • McGraw-Hill is the unrivalled publisher of textbooks in the US and has a vested interest in all things taught.
  • The United Nations sent Willard a cable concerning some mystery group that had gotten their attention; must have been serious enough for them to exhibit care about an organization that has spread its wings around the globe.

“When this is all over and we have untangled this briar patch, well in this case ‘friar-patch’, you should come back to Florida with us. I like the way you think.” Constance picks up on the growing connection between those seemingly stray Libby contacts and Martin’s investigative talents. He would be a welcomed addition to CCI.

“Not only that, Libby had called the FBI before they called him! What would a scientist have to do with government types, especially the spy kind? He must have sensed trouble,” adds Fanny.

“It looks like the entire planet was taking notice of his work.” In most instances that is the point of scientific research. Martin’s sense of security is waning.

“And yet you are as clean as a whistle and without a scratch on that pretty-boy face.”

“… At least for now. And so is Sam Ruben, a vital colleague of hours, part of the precious few, so-to-speak. I spoke with him the day before last and he too is getting spooked.” He speaks of their carbon-collaborator from University of California-Berkeley.

“And we know that we’re not dealing with a jealous husband or wacko lady friend,” Fanny notes, removing the love triangle aspect from the fray. Human emotion is generally the spark that ignites the fuel for the private investigatory engine.

Where do we start Miss Caraway? There are a dozen angles to consider here.”

Constance Caraway P.I. ~ Episode 21

…Someone(s) in the secret workings of the federal government is keeping an eye on the U of C scientist…

Back at 6137 Kimbark, there is a treasure trove of information to sort through.

Martin suggests that they work with the University’s new wieldy mainframe computer to expedite the process of information gathering. “It is like having 20 Eddies traveling at 20 different directions at once,” as Martin puts it. “Let’s get to it, girls.”

“Martin, you look into the telegraphs. Fanny, see if you can find out anything about those FBI agents. I’ll work the telephone records.” Three people doing three different things at once. “If you find something, write it down and we will compare notes.”

Connie’s notes-to-self, concerning the numbers that stand out amongst the litany of telephone activity out of the Argonne extension dedicated to Willard Libby:

  • To: Who is Billy Graham? Place a call to Northwestern Bible College where the man is affiliated.’
  • From: Tolentine Friars? Is that a restaurant or a place for Monks?’
  • From: McGraw-Hill Publishing Company. It figures he would be a bookworm,  interesting.’
  • To: The United Nations? Wow, this guy shoots high.’
  • From: Vincent Wolfgram, a single call on 12/10, the day Willard goes missing. That is huge.’
  • To: The FBI, New England office?’ Why did he contact them? And why did they nose around in his business, before he disappeared.’

As for the other two within earshot of Connie’s mumblings, their digital digging bears fruit as well. Each in turn offers some of what they have stumbled upon.

“Those FBI agents work out the Chicago office exclusively,” offers Fanny. “Yet you tell us he calls the Massachusetts office and those two Chicago boys comes a calling, why?” Fanny discovers extensive government files under his name. Someone(s) in the secret workings of the federal government is keeping an eye on the U of C scientist. In this era of Communism fear mongering  and accusation, having a file on you is not a good thing.

Martin Kamen finds out that Willard was in regular communication with Vatican City. What does their stance about the theory of evolution have to do with radiocarbon dating?

Forever Mastadon ~ Episode 134

Chapter Twelve

THE PRIMROSE PATH

“Hey CC, Fanny called while you were out,” he states matter-of-factly, oblivious to the corollary between a telephone call and fate.

Constance need not be filled in on the details. The fact that she failed to tell her partner that she has been in contact with Ace Bannion for two and a half weeks and never once told Fanny about it, well the most undesirable outcome of that oversight has come home to roost. In an attempt to spare Fanny the temporary anguish of Ace’s reappearance into their lives, she instead has severed the trust bond between sisters-in-arms.

forgot-to-tell-youoops

“You didn’t tell her about me, did you? Ugh. Never mind, I know the answer to that. I don’t mind playing the role of the villain once in a while, but hurting Fanny Renwick was not part of the bargain. She’s none too happy Constance, can you blame her?”

Before she can respond to damning indictment of her relational misjudgments, Agent Daniels is on the front landing, banging on the entry with great urgency. Ace opens the door.

Not That One

“Bart Simpson was found dead in his office!” the man is disheveled and distraught, not the unflappable version they are used to seeing. “And I think the Chicago police may believe I did it.”

“Simpson? The name doesn’t ring a bell. Please calm down and tell it to me slowly,” urges a concerned Constance.

He takes a deep breath and straightens his narrow black necktie, “I had an appointment with him at his office over at McGraw-Hill in the Loop.” Now she remembers. “While I was in the outer office, I thought I heard something going on behind the door. When I opened the door something smelled like it was burning, but there was no smoke and Simpson’s head was face down at his desk, blood trickling out of both ears.”

Forever Mastadon ~ Episode 133

…Bartholomew Simpson has had a shaky, if not inexplicable role in the perpetuation of The Great Deception…

Anger is a wasted emotion in the Angelic Realm, even though God has every right to be.

As a result, there is no reason for us to get mad when God is on our side. It is fruitless.

God does not support Pentateuch, who has the Earth as his playground and is completely on his own… and prone to anger… especially when he loses.

He also has his “ways” to keep track of things that interest him. And even though Cephus has quit communicating with him, he has not quit spying on Cephus’ whereabouts.

Forever Mastadon has not gone away. Its stealth tendrils are firmly entrenched wherever they are needed. One such secret stem has spotted Cephus/Daniels back in the Chicago, making a visit to the offices of McGraw-Hill, where FM has a foothold, in the person of the Head of Content.

Daniels/James, now that he has shed his other disguise shells, remains on the case which Willard Libby has started. He is curious as to why the publisher was so interested in the subject of carbon dating, so much so that they were in talks with him in the days leading up to Libby’s abduction.

Bartholomew Simpson has had a shaky, if not inexplicable role in the perpetuation of The Great Deception. He has heard about new, solid evidence that the “age of humans” is due for a huge correction and because new textbooks are in the process of content editing, the publisher needs to be the first to know the 5 W’s, not the last.

Pentateuch has been using subliminal suggestion as a management tool in the recesses of Simpson’s malleable mind. Up until recently, the issue of Evolution vs. Creation was foursquare in the “amino acid to upright hominid” corner. But there is an invisible fence bordering this suddenly open field and B. Simpson is now straddling that fence.

On the Fence

McGraw-Hill Publishers

 With awakening comes awareness.

  •  Libby is ready to spill the Carbon-14 Recipe Beans.
  • Daniels has covert plans for Mr. Bartholomew Simpson.
  • CCI Chi-town subtracts one member, adds another.
  • Dick Cannon seeks movie stars to shill for his “church”.
  • Pentateuch is disappointed with his Earthly accomplices.

From the enlightening saga of Willard Libby down to the evil machinations of the lord of Hades and everyone in between, the time has come to maneuver.
