The NULL Solution = Episode 102

…A man called Xat was banished to this cavern… he and his family and associates for all time and space travel knowledge was to die with him..

Deep below the tower Eupepsia, in a secret place hundreds of feet below the Spaceflight Expository, Ekcello, Supreme Elder of the High Council of Eridanus, meets with the eldest of the Olde. They are the keepers of the Olde Language, so as to preserve it for posterity. They were not, however, charged with the preservation of the olde spaceflight technology, like the hastily abandoned time-space-fold capable ship named Defender back in the day.

Albert Bierstadt (American, 1830-1902) (Painter)

Defender was resurrected for the purpose of giving the Triangulum Galaxy, and the Seljuk, a non-hyperphysical house-call. Granted, it was an open-ended resurrection, but now that the TSF feature is on the fritz, they endeavor to meet with the Great Beyond, Epsilon Eridani style.

The cavern below Eupepsia is a place where no rational Eridanian soul has tread for untold cycles, dating back to the olde home world exodus B.V., Before Vulcanization.

With ancient antiquated written text in hand, thanks to the keepers, Ekcello descends into history, the time when Earth was a place for exploration and a method for collapsing the fabric of space & time was deemed necessary for the sake of “progress”. It is a scary place. Normally he would have Cerella with him to supplement courage. She is, however, the very reason for this séance of sort. Wife Fortan would not be caught dead here.

#Who was the elder in charge of space technology# Ekcello inquires of the Keeper of Customs & Traditions.

#A man called Xat was banished to this cavern… he and his family and associates for all time. His knowledge was to die with him#

#But his spirit lives on. We are here to contact him. We cannot bring Cerella back to her rightful place without his knowledge so-named TSF#

They are not in the grotto but a short time, when it comes alive with activity. Spirits stir and time itself is fractured.

THE RETURN TRIP – Episode 266

…worries mount as the silence and secrecy is enforced, clouding the prospects for a long-term relationship between species…

“I summon you today, here at Founder Shrine, to discuss the topic of the humans, who have grown so dear to us in recent times,” declares the wisest of all in the hall, Ekcello.

This will be no ordinary meeting, with no time constraints or tabooed subjects. It could last as long as two cycles or get bogged down on the issue of interracial relations; wherever it goes, however long it takes. —

What to do about the Earthlings?

— Five Eridanian cycles later, the High Counsel separates each to their different Towers to wait for the agreed-on plan to be implemented. The brunt of that plan rests squarely on Ekcello, in whose tower the Earth folks spend most of their time.

After a period of rest, to ease the effects of having to use the Olde Language, Ekcello proceeds to lay the foundation, the solution to this subtle crisis.

During his extended sabbatical, thought waves were flying in speculation. The average Eridanian knows that something is up, that the High Counsel does not convene for just any reason and for so long a period on top of that. Impatient curiosity keeps the buzz going, something they thought they had eradicated long ago. —

— Heading the list of those believing those friends from the Blue Planet are the reason behind the meeting at the Shrine, is Cerella. Her worries mount as the silence and secrecy is enforced, clouding the prospects for a long-term relationship between species.

Long before the whispers of strange communications with the supposedly empty antique spaceship from Mars even made cerebral headlines, her life as a princess seemed mundane; even when there was nothing to compare it to. And once the pristine isolation of Eridanus was exposed for the fairytale that it is, life on the Pink Planet has been turned inside out.

In the time before the arrival of their sons, Sampson and Celeste had made a lasting impression. Even if the process of purging the memory of their coming would begin tomorrow, it would take another millennium to erase something as impacting as they.

Is it too late to try?

THE RETURN TRIP – Episode 264

…“Yes Fortän, I am afraid the times are tilting back to our uneasy past.” He speaks to the female Eridanian of greatest familiarity…

The dust still uneasy on hurried graves-3 by Nilima Sheikh,

Founder Shrine

Founders Shrine

As well-liked and welcomed as the Earthlings have become, their overall impact on the average Eridanian is profound and growing. This very subject has prompted the Supreme Elder of the High Counsel to gather the other members, at the Founder Shrine, the point where the first settlers set foot on this Utopian and enchanted world.

The Shrine is like no other structure on Eridanus, the only such brick & mortar allowed to use the architectural look of the Mother Planet. Its opulence and grandeur stands as a haunting reminder of their sorted past. For the “average” Eridanian, special permission is needed to visit it.

Ekcello comes here most often, gliding through the hall of this edifice, to hear the echoes of a long forgotten civilization. In keeping with time-honored tradition, only the Olde Language isused here and so it will be during this special session of the High Counsel.

In this very hall, speaking the Olde Language, another of the elders is in search of his/her roots: “It is refreshing to speak aloud Ekcello,” chimes the other, in rusty tones and pitches.

“Yes Fortän, I am afraid the times are tilting back to our uneasy past.” He speaks to the female Eridanian of greatest familiarity to him. She is his mate, the mother of Cerella, and just so happens to Elder a distant towered city.

“Did you bring our daughter with you?” Her tone chills as she utters mention of her offspring.

“She is too close to this matter Fortän. Her involvement with the humans is affecting her objectivity.” He is similar in pragmatic tone.

“You have convened the High Counsel concerning the Earth people, have you not?”

“It weighs heavily on my mind, as all can sense. There is a need for a consensus assessment of the growing emotional influence of these earthlings on our world.”
